Kitchen Fitting
Kitchen Units, Worktops and Fittings Installed and Levelled
Kitchens are unforgiving because everything is visible and everything lines up against everything else. Doors sit side by side, worktops run past several units, and any unit set slightly out shows along the whole run.
MR HANDY fits kitchen units, worktops and fittings across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. Gas work and notifiable electrical work are not undertaken and need a registered trade — this is flagged before the job starts so it can be arranged alongside.

Worth Knowing
Level, Square and the Order of Work
Everything in a kitchen is set from one reference line. Base units are levelled to that line rather than to the floor, because floors are rarely flat, and the worktop then sits true across the whole run.
Wall units are set from the same reference so the gap between worktop and wall units stays consistent. Getting this wrong at the first unit carries all the way along the wall.
Order matters. Units go in, then services are connected by the relevant trade, then worktops are templated and fitted, then doors are hung and adjusted last so everything can be lined up against a finished run.
Where a kitchen involves moving a gas point, or new circuits and consumer unit work, that is notifiable work for a registered installer. Planning it into the sequence early avoids units having to come back out.

Why MR HANDY
Why Use MR HANDY for Kitchen Work
The limits of the work are set out clearly at quote stage, including anything that needs a registered gas or electrical installer, so there are no surprises once units are out.
A kitchen is usually out of action while it is being fitted, so the sequence is planned to keep that period as short as is practical.
